Edinburgh's Christmas Market! A magical, enchanting place all glistening and sparkling with an air of excitement and wonder. AND it's always busy, windy, wet and cold. So... we go on Christmas Eve when it's quiet and there are no big crowds. It's still cold, wet and windy of course - can't take that away from Edinburgh in the winter.
We went straight to the maze - obviously! The daughter offers up a challenge to see who can finish first so we split into teams - the daughter and her boyfriend against her brother and me. It's bloody cold so that's my incentive to try my best to hurry us around... but they beat us. She's 17 yet stands excited and gloating waiting for us at the exit! We wander round the stalls and end up at the Yeti ride aka more cash. Child 2 is non plussed at being squashed in the middle (see pic).
Roll on evening and it's home to the heat.. and Prosecco.
What better way to spend the night of Christmas Eve watching I Robot while doing a 1000 piece jigsaw? I can offer a good alternative because after that we watched Titanic whilst eating hot dogs and still doing the Jigsaw! Just as much fun as throwing cash at the Christmas Market.
So that was it, another Christmas Eve done and probably my last year as Santa. Child 2 won't believe next year
